itsokaytotalk CIC — Terms of Use

Last updated: July 2026

By using this website, you agree to these terms.

What this site is: itsokaytotalk CIC provides a directory of support services, practical information, and awareness content for men experiencing crisis, mental health difficulties, or practical life pressures.

What this site is not: - An emergency service - A medical provider - A counselling or therapy service - A crisis response team

If you are in immediate danger, call 999 or go to A&E.

Content accuracy: We make every effort to keep support information accurate and up to date. However, contact details and service availability can change. Always verify directly with the service provider.

User submissions: Stories, contact form messages, partner enquiries, and video submissions are subject to admin review. We reserve the right to reject, edit, or remove any content without notice.

Your videos (the Voices feature): When you upload a video to the Voices feature, you are creating user-generated content that may include your image, voice, and possibly information about your mental health or lived experience. Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, video that reveals anything about a person's mental health is "special category data." We can only process that kind of content on the basis of your explicit, freely given consent.

By uploading a video you confirm that: - You are at least 18 years old - The video is your own work and you have the right to share it - Everyone identifiable in the video has agreed to appear, or you have edited them out - You consent to itsokaytotalk CIC storing, reviewing, and — if approved — publishing the video on this website and on our related social channels for the purpose of encouraging men to talk

You can withdraw your consent and request the removal of your video at any time by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect anything already shared before you contacted us, but we will remove it from this site as soon as reasonably practicable.

Special category data and consent: Because videos may reveal mental health information, we rely on your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a) UK/EU GDPR) as both our lawful basis and our condition for processing. Your consent is separate from these general terms, is not a condition of using the rest of the website, and can be withdrawn at any time without giving a reason. We keep a record of your consent with your submission and will only keep your video for as long as needed (see Retention below).

Content standards: You must not upload content that: - Contains suicide methods, self-harm instructions, or anything that could put someone at risk - Is illegal, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or discriminatory - Promotes hatred, violence, or self-harm - Infringes anyone else's copyright, privacy, or other rights - Contains personal details of other people without their consent - Is sexually explicit - Misleads people into thinking it is professional medical, legal, or financial advice

We review every video against these standards before it is published. Nothing goes live without a human moderator checking it first.

Reporting harmful content: Under the Online Safety Act 2023, we must give you a way to report illegal or harmful content. If you believe any video on this site is illegal, harmful, or breaches these terms, contact us through the contact form (mark it urgent) or email us and we will investigate and, if needed, remove it.

Moderation and publication: We decide what gets published. Submission does not guarantee publication. We may edit captions, add or change attribution, or decide not to use a video at all. Because all content is reviewed before publication, nothing appears on this site that has not been checked by our team.

Licence and rights: If your video is approved, you grant itsokaytotalk CIC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, reproduce, and share that video on this website and our associated social and awareness channels, for as long as we continue to publish it or until you withdraw consent. You keep ownership of your video. We will not sell your video or licence it to third parties for commercial use.

Retention and removal: Unpublished or rejected videos are deleted from our systems within a reasonable period after review (we aim for within 90 days). Published videos are kept for as long as the campaign runs, unless you ask us to remove them. You can request removal at any time and we will act promptly.

Safeguarding disclosures: If anything in a video or submission suggests someone is in immediate danger, we may share relevant information with the emergency services or appropriate authorities. This is a safeguarding duty and may override ordinary data protection rules in an emergency, as permitted by law.

Children: This website and the Voices feature are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect videos from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted content, contact us and we will remove it.

Liability: itsokaytotalk CIC provides information and signposting. We accept no liability for actions taken based on information on this website, or for the content of user-submitted videos beyond our moderation duties. Always seek professional help for medical, legal, or financial issues.

Intellectual property: All content on this website is owned by itsokaytotalk CIC unless otherwise stated. User-submitted videos remain the property of the contributor, subject to the licence granted above.

Changes to these terms: We may update these terms as the law or our services change. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Law and jurisdiction: These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. For users in the EU, your data is processed under the UK GDPR; where relevant, the EU GDPR also applies and you may have additional rights through your local data protection authority.

Contact: For any questions about these terms or your data, use our contact form or email hello@itsokaytotalk.co.uk.
